Why do sadhana




















It was great to see you with Hawk as I knew at the time I was pregnant — yogi babies seem so magical! It must not confined to just forty days, but for entire life. Then the soul will be fulfilled to the core and person will enjoy bliss.

And then, I decided I was going to work on my relationships with Jeremy, with others, and with myself no big deal. Maybe I was building another problem doll to add to my stacking set, or maybe it was an effort to create a support system for my self-reflection, but I took on a summer sadhana.

In Sanskrit , Sadhana literally means accomplishing something. I wanted to strengthen my commitment to both my spiritual practice and word to myself. For the next 40 days, I woke up at 3 a. I tried to go to sleep each night no later than 8 p. For the first week, I was very enthusiastic and surprised by how little sleep I needed to function.

But then, somewhere around day eight, I came home after Sadhana and passed out until noon, which only messed up my circadian rhythm further. As my levels of exhaustion increased, so did my weight. I wondered how the other yogis in the room were doing it.

Some of them were on day 50, 60, 90 and even I was assured that if I could get enough sleep, I would be OK. According to our Sadhana group leader, the secret to a successful Sadhana was getting enough sleep.

Your sadhana will change your life in the most beneficial ways possible. Yoga has already been shown to have countless health benefits. Therefore, by taking your practice a step further, you will be able to accomplish seemingly unachievable goals, bring a sense of tranquility and peace to your daily life, and be a beacon of light for the people around you. Sadhana does not mean any specific kind of activity, sadhana means you are using everything as a tool for your wellbeing.
